A journalist set free

Hello,

Not much to report on the journalism front this week. I got the coveted C in my Reporting exam, so assuming nothing has gone disastrously in the Production exam, I should have my gold standard. Hooray!

Sorry I’ve fallen off the radar a bit recently – I’m sad to have to report that my beloved rabbit, Poppy, had to be put down this morning. She was hit with a case of flystrike on Thursday, and had lots of treatment and injections, and she just never really recovered. She’s been sat really quietly for the past couple of days not eating. Obviously I am utterly heartbroken, but I’m so relieved she isn’t in pain anymore. She had a very happy life and she was a very spoilt bunny.

Last night we went for a birthday dinner with my family for my mum’s birthday at Coast to Coast at Brighton Marina, which was nice.

I started looking for jobs the other day, and just started to feel a bit stressed. I desperately want a job, but it’s fiercely competitive in the journalism world. I worry that people won’t want me because I’m so young and I lack life experience. I’m trying to sharpen up my CV, but I feel like my CV doesn’t really get across the way I approach writing. It’s just pretty underimpressive. Any CV tips would be greatly appreciated, especially for journalism jobs.

I don’t have a great deal to say today; I thought I’d just check in with you all. If anyone has any news they’d like to see written up as a feature, please do let me know.

Gah, I feel the same – searching for journalism jobs is (a little bit/a lot) soul-destroying. But hey ho, keep on keeping on. Good luck girl, and sorry about your bunny !! 😦 xo

    1. Ahh thank you 😦 I just keep thinking that we did it for her, it was so so much worse seeing her all weak and in pain 😦 I just can’t seem to put together a decent CV, it’s stressing me out so much! x
