Hygge places: Bled, Slovenia

I recently took a little trip to Bled (and the surrounding area) in Slovenia. My friend and I considered several places for this trip – Cannes, Sorrento, Krakow… but my friend had taken a day trip to Bled once before, and I’d heard good things, so we went for it.

Guys, if you love autumn even 5% as much as I do, you HAVE to take a trip to Bled at this time of year. I cannot express how beautiful it is with all the changing leaves and that astonishingly clear blue water. We did some treacherous hikes in inappropriate shoes (Converse and Vans, here we come), drank wine half the price of soft drinks (€0.80!) and saw so many gorgeous landscapes, and I can’t recommend it highly enough if you’re looking for some autumnal hygge. For once, I think the pictures do it more justice than I can in words, so take a look for yourself…

Where’s your favourite spot for an autumnal getaway? I’m currently planning my travels for next year, so I’d love to hear your recommendations! And if you want to see more photos from my previous travels (and my upcoming trip to Barbados), be sure to follow me on Instagram.

    1. Amazing! I can’t recommend it enough – I bet it looks beautiful at any time of year (imagine that lake surrounded in snow!) but it really did look spectacular in late September.
