Hello hello!
Sorry I’ve been such a slacker on the blogging front lately – my laptop has been taken off to be repaired (and my god it needed it) so I’ve been left to do battle with the painfully slow desktop computer!
This week at Journalist Works, we went off to Lewes Crown Court. Crown Court feels very different to Magistrates Court. I felt a lot more involved in the case, and it all feels very serious, knowing that if the defendant is found guilty, they could well end up in prison. I really want to find out the verdict of the case we sat in on, but can’t find out how online – do any of my readers know how I can find this out? I really liked Crown Court though, and I’d like to go again, I think.
Shorthand is killing me. It’s funny, because I’m a really fast writer when I write in longhand, but I’m really not fast at all in shorthand. I’m just not really a natural at it, so I find myself getting increasingly worked up and frustrated by my ineptitude. I’m keeping up the practice, but I’m a little disheartened by the fact I’m not making any significant improvement.
We’ve finished most of the PA syllabus now, so I need to get down to revision now.
I have a new piece up on The Argus Community page, if you want to take a look at that. I also have a piece to write up on the subject of dating, with someone very appropriate, and my interview with electronic musician Hexus to go up when my laptop returns from the ether. If the weather holds out, I’ll try to cover a Jubilee event, and I also have a piece about a church in the pipeline I reckon.
I’m busy to the max right now, but I promise I’ll try to be a better blogger!
