Hello!
I begin today with THE song of our course: Andrew Lansley Rap. It’s particularly topical right now, when we’re all feverishly revising PA for our exam next week.
This week is a weird one. Tomorrow we have PA revision, followed by another session with feature writer John Jenkins on Thursday, and more PA on Friday. We’ve not had PA in about a month, so it’ll be odd returning to the local government, frontline services, Europe and the like. Revision is crawling along. I’m quite worried about the sheer volume. breadth and depth of what we have to learn, but little can be done aside from reading reading reading.
Next week is the last week of the course (aside from the optional Business of Magazines week). I cannot believe how fast it’s gone. It’s nice to know that I’ve been able to prove that I could do it, considering how many people told me it’d be hard work and that I’d struggle. We have our Reporting resits on Monday (none of us know whether we’ve passed the first or not, so this is a second shot at an exam we may well have passed). Tuesday is the PA exam, Wednesday is probably just a Production Journalism lecture, Thursday is a shorthand exam which I won’t be participating in and Friday is the Production exam. Then we’re all going for a final meal on Friday night! Hooray!
I’ll be gutted to say goodbye to everyone though. I like every single person on the course, and I’ll really miss everyone. It’ll also be weird not getting up at 7am anymore. My body genuinely doesn’t know how to sleep past about 8am these days!
BACK TO PA FOR ME. Stop distracting me, you sly foxes.
