It’s Christmas Eve! Hooray! As we know, Scandinavia celebrates Christmas today (along with much of the rest of the world), so if you’re one of my Scandi followers, I hope you’re having a fantastic day.
I just thought I’d give you a quick glimpse of my Nordic-inspired Christmas tree, which becomes less and less exclusively Nordic each year. In my family, we have a tradition where whenever one of us goes to another country, we have to bring back a Christmas decoration so we end up with a really personal mishmash of ornaments on the tree (my brother couldn’t find one in Malta so we have a keyring on the tree this year… very festive).
We have decorations from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, the US, Belgium, Germany, the UK and Canada so far, and we’re hoping to add to the collection over the years. It’s also a great excuse to revisit places we went before we started this tradition…
I love seeing how other people decorate – let me know what you’ve done to hygge up your home for Christmas in the comments!
Hope you all have a very cosy Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year!
great
Merry Messy Christmas Kayleigh. We have a wee pair of those wee clogs on our tree too. We got ours from some weird little automated miniature factory in The Hague. Queue. €1. Little van. Clogs. Fun times.
Aren’t they ace? For €1, I just couldn’t resist…
How fun to have decorations with such good memories attached to them. 🙂
It’s cute isn’t it? 🙂 Hope you had a good Christmas!
